Mission statement

The mission of Weldmar Hospicecare Trust is:

  • To ensure all patients needing palliative care in Dorset have access to excellent services delivered when and where needed whether by Weldmar Hospicecare Trust, or by others supported by the Trust
  • To offer support to families and others affected by the patient’s disease
  • To provide respite for patients with debilitating chronic conditions

Weldmar Hospicecare Trust strongly believes in the holistic support of patients with terminal disease and their families, building services around patients’ individual needs and desires, and aiming to provide equity of access to services for all adults in Dorset.

We aim to be an active and constructive partner in the health and social care community in Dorset.

We aspire to provide excellent working conditions and development opportunities for our staff and volunteers.

We strive to be transparent in our workings and accessible to all who wish to be involved with us, as patients and their families, staff, volunteers or supporters.

We have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit when reviewing our aims and objectives and in planning our future activities.

Our services are provided free of charge.
