How we help
Once you have been referred to Weldmar Hospicecare Trust, there are a number of ways in which we can help.
Arts at Weldmar
Weldmar offers a range of ways for people to engage with the arts depending on their needs and wishes
Whatever your beliefs or disbelief, whether you have a strong religious faith or not, our team of chaplains are here for you, your family and your friends.
The therapies we offer complement your conventional medical treatment and aim to support your physical, emotional and spiritual well-being, enhancing your quality of life.
Weldmar's day hospice services are located on three sites, operating as one unit.
Our professionally trained Family Support Team recognises that the impact of life threatening illness affects all family members and all areas of family life including, accommodation, employment, relationships, finance, carers, and children’s well being.
Occupational Therapy helps individuals achieve as much independence as possible with everyday tasks. For example, washing, dressing, continuing to work, domestic tasks such as meal preparation and leisure activities.
Physiotherapy aims to maximise your independence and enable you to remain as active as possible for the duration of your illness.
The groups provide a day out for patients in friendly, warm surroundings with a hot meal and some light activities, where patients can talk freely in a relaxing environment and to the volunteers in total confidence.
Working alongside the nursing team who work within our in-patient unit (Joseph Weld Hospice) is our team of specialist nurses.
