Specialist nurses

Community Specialist Nurses

We have eleven specialist nurses working in the community with local GPs and district nurses. All the nurses are experienced in the complex symptoms and problems that life threatening illness and its treatment can bring.

They are here to support patients and families and are happy to discuss any anxieties you may have regarding your illness.

Our team will visit people at home, in nursing homes, residential homes and the community hospitals.

The community nurse team are constantly liaising with the consultants and other specialist areas in the Trust.

Hospital Specialist Nurses

Three of our team are based in Dorset County Hospital giving advice and support to patients in hospital, advising ward nurses and doctors in pain and symptom relief.

They also work closely with all areas of the Trust.
