All care provided by Weldmar Hospicecare Trust is totally without any charge to patients and their families. At present our running costs are just in excess of £5 million per year and whilst we do receive a grant from the local PCT (NHS) of approximately 32% of our running costs this still leaves us in excess of £2 million to raise every year.

Therefore, as a local charity, we do rely heavily on the community for its continued support through local organisations, donations, fundraising events and legacies and through our charity shops to run our essential services.

Most of us know of close relatives and friends who need the kind of care we offer and it is reassuring to know that these services are available at no cost to our patients or their family.

Weldmar Hospicecare Trust is close to many people’s hearts and we greatly value the support we receive from the local community, indeed we could not continue to care for our patients without it. In addition legacies are essential, whether large or small they are vital to us.

Many of our patients and their families feel they would like to give something back and any help you can give, no matter what, is very gratefully received.
