Leaving a gift in your Will

This income is so vital to us that without it we simply would not be able to provide the range of services we do now. This would mean that many local people would not have the care and quality of life they deserve at the end of their lives. 

Every penny really does count and a gift, whatever the amount, makes a real difference to patient care. A gift in your Will is an investment in the future of the Weldmar.

After providing for your family and friends, by leaving a gift to the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust in your Will you could, in a very special way, help to ensure the continuation of  caring work after your lifetime.

Any gift you make will be exempt from Inheritance Tax so the whole of it can be used by the Trust.

We would always suggest that you consult your solicitor or legal adviser concerning drawing up or amending your Will.

Leaving a gift to the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust is simple

You can include us when making your Will or if you already have a Will you can add a Codicil.

Here is an example of the working you might include in your Will or Codicil:

“I give to Weldmar Hospicecare Trust, Herringston Road, Dorchester, Dorset  DT1 2SL (Registered Charity No. 1000414) for its general charitable purposes

(insert what you wish to leave as a gift)

For example one or more of the following:
a. the sum of £..........................
b. all or part of the residue of my estate 
c. specific items

and the receipt of the Treasurer or other responsible officer for the time being of  the charity shall be good and sufficient discharge to my Executors”

Gifts left to UK charities in a Will are free of Inheritance Tax. This means that you could reduce the amount of money going to the government from your estate as a charitable bequest will be deducted before tax is calculated, reducing the overall taxable value of your estate.
