A cheque was presented to The Weldmar Hospicecare Trust at the Joseph Weld Hospice for £1,030. This was raised from the Leweston Living Christmas Fair which was held at Leweston School near Sherborne on 12th November 2009.
This fair is held annually by the school and has been growing in size every year with over 60 stands selling gifts for all the family, clothes, jewellery, speciality food and drink, and Christmas cards.
Proceeds from the fair are donated to different charities each year. For the 2009 fair, the committee decided to support Weldmar as its chosen local charity.
Usha Smith and Melanie Taylor, members of the Leweston Living Christmas Fair Committee, presented the cheque to Caroline Nickinson, Director of Fundraising at the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.
