Weldmar Hospicecare Trust Opens 12th Charity Shop in Wareham

23rd February 2010

Weldmar Hospicecare Trust is delighted to announce the opening of their 12th charity shop at 11am on Thursday 25th February at 17 West Street, Wareham. The opening ceremony will be performed by Trust Vice President Sir John James KCVO CBE.

The Mayor of Wareham, Mrs Audrey Tighe and her Escort, Mr Nelson Townsend will also be present as well as other representatives from Weldmar Hospicecare Trust.

Clothes, accessories, shoes, books, CDs, DVDs and household goods will be among the range of quality items for sale. Customers are encouraged to take part in our retail campaign to promote Buy It - Use It - Bring it Back as a donation. The campaign message is also to donate textiles that are unsuitable for selling in our shops but are a valuable source of income for us.

Valerie Burnham, Retail Director for Weldmar Hospicecare Trust said "We are delighted to be opening in Wareham and look forward to welcoming everyone to our shop".

Weldmar Hospicecare Trust are one of the few chains of charity shops that exclusively trade in goods donated by the people of Dorset.

Vanessa Burton, Manager of the Wareham shop, said "We would greatly welcome donations from the people of Wareham and surrounding areas. Just one bag of donated goods can be worth up to £50 retail value to the charity".

The Trust is also able to reclaim 28p in the £1 on all donations made by members of the public who are tax payers and who participate in the Gift Aid scheme by completing a simple form.

The Trust always welcomes enquiries from people who would like to volunteer.  If you have some spare time to help in the Wareham shop or other shops within the Trust, please contact Valerie Burnham, tel: 01305 215300 or read more about being a shop volunteer on our website.
