Care Quality Commission - CQC

A message from our Director of Fundraising and Marketing on our events calendar

At Weldmar Hospicecare, we care for people with life limiting illnesses so it is important that we take all reasonable steps to protect the wellbeing of those using our services, as well as those working, volunteering and supporting for the charity. This is particularly relevant during the current outbreak of Covid-19 in the UK.

As coronavirus cases continue to increase across the UK, charity events and activities are becoming more uncertain, to protect the organisers as well as the attendees.

Unfortunately we have been left with no other option than to cancel several of our key events up until end of May. We will continue to review our other planned events over the coming weeks ahead.

Events and activities are vital for us here at Weldmar Hospicecare and help us raise the £18,000 required each and every single day. This will become even more challenging during the Covid-19 virus and over the coming weeks and months ahead. Currently, our chain of retail sites remain open, accepting donations and welcoming customers throughout the week.

We are committed to continuing our vital care to as many people as possible, as they continue to face one of life’s most difficult journeys. Our nurses are on the front line and are currently caring for those very patients who are most at risk and vulnerable. Over the coming months, we are going to need to adapt and change the ways in which we provide care – and it is important that those decisions aren’t based on whether we can afford it, but instead around what is right for our patients and their loved ones.

We have set up several options to continue supporting Weldmar Hospicecare during the challenging months ahead, and we’d love you to be part of it. From virtual challenges to creative ways of giving, every pound really will make a massive difference and help us secure hospice care for those who need us most.

We would like to sincerely thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. We rely heavily on our supporters, your generosity, passion and dedication to our charity.

Finally, from everyone at Weldmar Hospicecare, please stay safe, do not put yourself at risk and follow the guidance available to members of the public.
