Living and Working in Dorset
If you’re thinking of relocating to Dorset for a job at Weldmar Hospicecare, there are some very good reasons why you should!
The county is a beautiful place to live and work. Breathtaking coastlines, golden sandy beaches, stunning scenery, and a haven for nature. The world famous Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage Site, featuring the natural beauty of Durdle Door and Chesil Beach.
Each town has its own character. The county town of Dorchester enjoys a rich history made famous by Thomas Hardy’s novels, as well as modern eating, shopping, and entertainment in Brewery Square. Weymouth is vibrant throughout the summer and boasts a picturesque harbour. Bridport is a hub for the arts, there’s the picturesque Gold Hill in Shaftesbuy, and so much more.
There’s lots to do – take your pick of first class places to eat, and there are festivals dedicated to everything from hats to Dorset Knobs, books to seafood, and of course plenty of live music including Camp Bestival and Music By The Lake.
Despite being ‘far from the madding crowd’, there are direct rail links to London Waterloo, with Dorchester, Poole, Bournemouth and Southampton all en route. A drive to the capital will take just two and a half hours.
It’s also probably worth noting that Dorset has the highest life expectancy in Great Britain, as well as 364 hours more sunshine a year than the national average!
