Actress, Pauline Quirke, visits our Inpatient Unit
Patients at our inpatient unit were treated to a visit from Pauline Quirke
On Wednesday 17th April, actress and TV star Pauline Quirke, very kindly took time out of her busy schedule to visit our Inpatient Unit in Dorchester.
Known for her popular roles in Birds of a Feather, Emmerdale and Broadchurch, patients were delighted to be treated to her special visit.
She took time to talk to patients and their families about their experiences of Weldmar Hospicecare as well as kindly posing for photographs which were then framed for the patients to keep.
Pauline and her husband Steve were also treated to a tour of our Inpatient Unit, to gain a further understanding into the work of the charity and the complexities of illnesses that are cared for.
Finally, they met with staff from around the building who talked further about Weldmar’s range of services provided across Dorset.
One of Weldmar’s Directors, Matt Smith said “We were absolutely delighted to be treated to a special visit from Pauline and her husband Steve. They very kindly took time out of their busy schedules to help make a difference to other people. They were both incredibly friendly to all of our patients, their relatives and our staff and applauded the work of Weldmar Hospicecare, for the individual vital care that is given to so many patients each year. The most important part of the visit, was that Pauline put a smile on our patient’s faces, and to us, that is what it is all about.”
