Arrangements for visitors at our IPU during November lockdown
Please follow these rules when visiting our Inpatient Unit in Dorchester.
There are changes to arrangements for visitors at our Inpatient Unit in Dorchester as a result of the second national lockdown to combat Covid-19.
In line with government guidelines, patients can continue to nominate four visitors each. However, visits will be limited to two people per patient, and those people must be from the same household.
The Orangery area will be closed to visitors at this time, to reduce the number of people potentially mixing in this area.
All staff, volunteers, and visitors must wear a face covering at all times in all inside communal areas of the Inpatient Unit.
Reception staff will continue to record visitor names and contact numbers in line with Track and Trace guidance, although QR codes will soon be on display to scan directly into the app.
Please do not visit if you have a cough or high temperature.
The duration of your visit may need to be restricted in some circumstances and will be discussed fully on an individual basis.
Children may visit only by prior discussion with the nursing/medical team, and currently this is restricted to over 12 years of age, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Please speak to the Inpatient Unit for guidance, prior to visiting, on 01305 215300.
