Art Exhibition moves online to raise funds for Weldmar
“We were determined to provide people with access to some of the finest local artwork”
A leading annual arts event is going ahead this spring, despite the restrictions of the Covid-19 lockdown.
Dorchester Art Exhibition is now running online, featuring pieces of artwork from more than sixty talented artists, and will be raising money for Weldmar Hospicecare with every sale.
Robert Guest, from Art Gallery South West, who organised the event, says, “We believe art has an important role in providing stimulation, joy and inspiration for those stuck in isolation, so we were determined to provide people with access to some of the finest local artwork from the comfort/safety of their own home.”
Robert says the process of moving all the artwork online was quite a challenge, and time consuming, but all worth it.
“We really wanted to support Weldmar Hospicecare. Their approach of specialised and exceptional free care is truly inspiring, and we know how important they are to the Dorset community. It is crucially important throughout this difficult time that we continue to support our local charities in whatever way we can.”
Commission on all sales of artwork from the art exhibition will go directly to Weldmar Hospicecare, where front line care continues throughout the crisis, both in the community and at our Inpatient Unit in Dorchester.
Our thanks to Art Gallery South West for their support!
