Charity shop bargains are still available from Weldmar… in our eBay shop
There is a wide range of items in our eBay shop, with hundreds more added every week
All Weldmar Hospicecare shops have been closed since Tuesday 5th January, when the third national lockdown began.
Well, all but one of our shops. Our eBay shop has been doing a roaring trade, selling a range of charity shop bargains. These include household items, jewellery, antiques and collectables, and some clothes. A number of our retail team, including Regional Manager Bev Peck, pictured above, are helping out with an increasing number of orders.
Rebecca Walsh joined the Weldmar Hospicecare team in November, and runs the online operation.
“We add around a hundred items to our eBay shop every week”, explains Rebecca, “so there are lots of interesting new bargains to browse regularly. If one of our shops takes a donation of an item that seems to be rare or collectable, they will often do some research on it and pass it onto us to sell on eBay.”
“By reaching a wider audience for these items we can usually make a bit more money on them. Most sales originate from outside Dorset, and we have even sent some items overseas – someone in Australia bought a camera, and we sent a gramophone to Italy!”
Unfortunately, we are not taking donations specifically for eBay, and ask that if you have donations of items for our charity shops, you keep them to one side and bring them in once we re-open after lockdown. Please do not leave any items outside our shops, as they cannot be sold.
