Co-op shoppers help raise more than £3,000 for Weldmar Hospicecare

It’s all thanks to their membership initiative

A huge thank you to the Co-op store on Trinity Street in Dorchester, Co-op Food in Crossways, and Co-op Funeral Care in Dorchester, who have collectively just donated £3,325.50 to Weldmar Hospicecare.

The donation was made as part of the company’s membership scheme, and the local store has chosen Weldmar as one of three charities to support.

Trinity Street store manager, James West, says, “If anyone comes into the store and buys a Co-op branded item, we donate 2p for every pound spent to local causes.  The sale of carrier bags also gets added to the pot, so that means we have been able to raise nine and a half thousand pounds for good causes in the Dorchester area this year.”

Anyone wanting to sign up to the membership scheme can find out more in the store, or by downloading the Co-op app from their usual app store.
