Coronavirus advice from Weldmar Hospicecare
COVID-19
The symptoms of Covid-19 (Coronavirus) may be more severe in people with weakened immune systems, older people and those with long term conditions such as diabetes, cancer and chronic lung disease.
At Weldmar Hospicecare, the wellbeing of the people we support, hospice visitors, staff and volunteers is our first priority and that’s why we are following advice and guidance issued by the World Health Organisation and the UK Government.
We appreciate your support in following the current guidance:
- For the protection of patients within our Inpatient Unit we are restricting access to the building to essential visitors only. Do not enter the building at all if you have a cough, high temperature or breathlessness.
- Frequently clean your hands by using alcohol based hand rub (which are available at all our patient sites) or soap and water
- When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with a flexed elbow or tissue – throw the tissue away immediately and wash your hands
Thank you in advance for your co-operation and if you are unsure whether you should visit or not, please contact us on one of our direct numbers.
Hand Washing Technique
You’ve probably heard the advice to wash your hands for the time it takes to sing Happy Birthday – twice.
Luckily, the NHS have produced a video, complete with the tune, that shows you how to correctly and thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water – make sure you watch right to the very end!
