Could you be our Champion?

Weldmar is searching for the 2018 Strictly Ballroom Champions

Could you be our Champion?

Since 2013, Weldmar’s dancing competition, Strictly Ballroom, has proved a huge hit with audiences and so helped to raise over £70,000 for us. Now we are recruiting for our Class of 2018!

Strictly Ballroom 2016On Friday 7th December, we will be holding our Strictly Ballroom Finale at Weymouth Pavilion and are on the hunt for individuals to take on this fantastic 16 week challenge, who are willing to perform to a packed audience and a panel of judges.

If you have always fancied a go at the Foxtrot or wondered if you can Waltz, now is your opportunity to find out!

Once you are paired up, you will attend 16 free training sessions over a 16 week period – giving you the opportunity to create and perfect your own dance.

You won’t be doing this alone however. The Eileen Spracklen School of Dance will be training you, and making sure you are polished for the Finale in December.

Eileen and Gemma from the Eileen Spracklen School of Dance generously give up their time free of charge and coach all of the dancers over the 16 weeks.

Strictly Ballroom 2016Gemma Fulbrook, who will be training all of the participants this year said “We are really excited for this year’s Strictly Challenge. If you are thinking about applying for this event then just do it! You won’t be sorry. We have so much fun together as a group and we’ll support you every step of the way. Let’s make this the best year yet!”

Participants are required to raise a minimum sponsorship of £400 for Weldmar Hospicecare whilst training, and pay a one off registration fee of £25. This sponsorship will help Weldmar to continue our Outstanding care for patients and their families across Dorset.

So, register online now – or call 01305 261800 to apply today – the deadline for applications is 3rd July.

Successful applicants will be notified on 4th July 2018, with rehearsals starting at the beginning of August.
