Dorchester fundraising hero takes to his buggy for Weldmar
Graham’s Scooterthon is underway!
We’re really humbled by some of the ways people are fundraising for Weldmar Hospicecare right now.
With our charity shops closed and regular fundraising events cancelled, supporters are finding innovative ways of helping to fund the vital end of life care still being delivered by our team on the front line in Dorset.
Meet Graham. Graham Curtis, MBE, from Dorchester. He is taking on a ten day challenge to scoot 100 laps around his front car park in ‘Graham’s Scooterthon’. The challenge ends on May 13th, the day he was due to go to Buckingham Palace to collect his MBE.
Graham has already raised thousands of pounds for local charities over the years – the reason he was recognised in the New Year’s Honours list this year. You can read more about that here.
Graham Curtis says he wants to help Weldmar Hospicecare because ‘they desperately need funds to keep their good work going’. He has set himself a target of £1,000, and is almost half way there at the time of writing!
