The garden is 3/4 acre in size, with an emphasis on shrubs and trees rather than flowers. Most of the trees are from the original Victorian planting, which makes for an interesting tree walk. The Vicarage itself is an interesting High Gothic style with William White as the architect, and was featured in Hardy’s ‘Tess of the D’Urbervilles’ as the home of Tess’s husband, Angel Clare.
