Hair Goes Nothing! Melissa’s brave shave for Weldmar
It’s all in the name of raising funds for end of life care in Dorset
Hats off to Melissa Twist, who is the Chaplaincy Co-ordinator at Leweston School in Sherborne.
Mrs Twist has had her hair shaved off, raising more than £1100 for Weldmar Hospicecare!
Melissa says, “I’ve been the Chaplaincy Coordinator at Leweston School since September 2019, where I met Lu Worrall through mutual friends. I knew about Weldmar Hospicecare through both Lu and through the various fundraising efforts of different school groups. When Leweston hosted a virtual quiz night for Weldmar in March, I was absolutely blown away by the staggering operational costs borne by the organisation. I wanted to do something wacky enough to raise some serious ££!”
Melissa adds on her Virgin Money page that her grandparents, Gene and June, and Aunt Pam all received care at the end of their lives and she has ‘witnessed first-hand the compassion and strength of health care workers in this extraordinary vocation’.
