Weldmar is proud to be supported by the Dorset community throughout 2017
Everyone at Weldmar Hospicecare is very grateful to have the support of our local community – without whom we would not be able to offer our outstanding services across the county.
Here are just a few of the people who have supported us earlier this year.
Thank you to Sadie, Nicky, Luke, Ivonna, Patrick and Brogan who took part in this daring event.
Colmers Hill Fashion Show
Penny from Colmers Hill Fashion recently presented Weldmar with a cheque for £2733.33 – raised at the second Colmers Hill Fashion Show, held in March 2017.
Penny said “The Colmers Hill Fashion Show has become a much anticipated event and I am so delighted to support Weldmar and their invaluable work in Dorset. Over 180 people came to the show and the atmosphere was electric! I’d like to thank Graham Barton who hosted the event and all the businesses and individuals who made it possible, not least Symondsbury Estate”.
We are very grateful to Imogen Brown (on the left in this photo) and her family – who continue to support Weldmar Hospicecare year after year.
On Saturday 12th August, Imogen held a cake sale on what would have been her Grandad’s 70th birthday – and raised an amazing £1,077 in his memory.
Thank you so much Imogen – and good luck with your Bingo event in January!
Thank you to the young adults from NCS – National Citizen Service who worked hard in the grounds of Joseph Weld Hospice, our inpatient unit in Dorchester, this summer – as well as raising funds for us.
‘NCS Team 2’ met with some of our nurses and maintenance team in August 2017, to hand over the £488.97 they had raised so far.
Every year Fairfield House have a stall at The Melplash Show, and raise money for a chosen charity. This year they decided to support.
April Robinson from Fairfield House said “We are delighted to announce that this year the total raised is £687.50. This is the best fundraising event Fairfield has done to date! A massive thank you again to all the businesses for donating!”.
Paula and Judy
Paula Booth and Judy Maclachlan volunteer in our Charity Shop in Swanage.
Judy said “We took a stall at Harmans Cross Fete on the Bank Holiday Monday in August for Weldmar. It was the hottest Bank Holiday in years! Our husbands, Peter Booth and Ian Maclachlan, helped us to erect the gazebo and unload and finally load up the cars. We took approximately £120. It was a good day, even if we did lose a few pounds (in weight!)”.
Thank you all!
Thank you to everyone that supports Weldmar Hospicecare – without you, we would not be able to care for our patients and their loved ones across Dorset.
