Hot dogs beat the heat at our annual Dog Show
They helped us raise a cool amount of money!
Dogs of all shapes and sizes descended on the meadow at Weldmar Hospicecare’s in-patient unit in Dorchester on Saturday.
Our annual Dog Show proved to be as popular as ever, despite temperatures reaching a barmy 30C.
Our canine visitors and their owners enjoyed the high speed thrills of Dorset Flyball, and there were stalls dedicated to everything from doggie treats to pet photography – even a dog caricuture artist!
Prizes were given in a number of classes, from Most Handsome Dog to Best Paw Shaker, and The Dog The Judges Would Most Like To Take Home.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, we raised an impressive £2438.20, which will all go towards helping patients in the last year of their lives, being cared for at home, at our in-patient unit, or at our Day Services, and their families.
Event organiser Megan McCann said, ““Our 2019 Dog Show was a great success, it was lovely to see so many people and their dogs attend and enjoy the show and the novelty classes. The weather was on our side this year which was great. My favourite class was definitely ‘The cutest pup’. Also a big thank you to everyone who helped make the event happen and to all our lovely stall holders, I hope to see you all again in 2020!”
