Young fundraiser, Imogen Brown of Dorchester, raised over £1,800 for Weldmar
A bingo event held at St Mary’s Catholic First School helped to raise £1,828 for the hospice charity that is so close to the heart of 14 year old Imogen Brown, as Weldmar Hospicecare cared for Imogen’s grandfather, Chris Dufall, during 2015.
Imogen has been fundraising for Weldmar since 2016, and has so far raised a staggering £4,712.91!
Imogen’s mum, Kerry, said “She held a bingo night at St Mary’s Catholic First School and sold all of the 120 tickets within a week. All of the prizes were requested by Imogen and kindly donated, so 100% takings go to Weldmar. As a family we would like to thank all of the businesses and friends who donated prizes and our family, friends and new friends (people who we didn’t know before but now come to her events!) for their ongoing support”.
Caroline Hamblett, Chief Executive of Weldmar Hospicecare, said “I would like to thank Imogen, and her family, for all their hard work. The money they have raised will help us to continue to provide our Outstanding care across Dorset, supporting our patients and their families where and when they need us most – in their homes, in a local hospital in our hospice, or over the phone”.
