March in March
Are you planning to get fit for the summer, or have a New Year’s resolution to do more exercise? Then why not take part in Weldmar Hospicecare’s sponsored ‘March in March’ event on Saturday 18th March at 11am?
The March in March is a six mile walk between Portland and Weymouth – starting and finishing at Osprey Leisure Centre.
Not only will you take in some beautiful sights along the route, it’s fun for the whole family and you can even bring along your four legged friends, whilst getting fit and raising money for your local hospice.
Diane Bentley, Community Fundraiser for Weldmar said “This event is fun for the whole family and has such a great atmosphere. It is an annual sponsored walk in our calendar of events and it’s a great opportunity to enjoy a lovely fresh walk while meeting like-minded people along the route. There will be a face painter on hand before the event starts and after the walk there’s a chance to browse around a few stalls and have your photo taken with Weldbaa, our Weldmar Mascot”.
Every penny that is raised by participants in “March In March” will go towards caring for Weldmar’s patients and their loved ones across Dorset – enabling Weldmar to continue to provide end of life care to patients in their own homes, at Weldmar’s Wellbeing Centres or as inpatients at Joseph Weld Hospice in Dorchester.
