New sports challenge in Weymouth to support Weldmar Hospicecare
Will you be up for the new team event?
A brand new sporting event is coming to Weymouth in 2020, and supporting the work of Weldmar Hospicecare.
Para Bellum Weymouth will be running over the weekend of the 13th and 14th June next year, and is expected to become one of the biggest fitness competitions on the south coast.
Just Racing (UK) already run local events such as the Weymouth Half Marathon and Swim The Bay.
Para Bellum Weymouth will see 100 teams of two men and two women compete on Weymouth beach. Teams will compete in eight gruelling fitness events designed to test not only individual fitness but the team’s ability to work together, overcoming challenges to ultimately determine who is the fittest.
Teams can get a refund on their entry fee if they raise money for Weldmar Hospicecare.
Alan Rose, Director of Just Racing (UK) said, “We are really excited to be organising what can only be described as an event that is a true test of fitness and something that is suitable for a variety of teams from gyms, clubs and organisations across the UK. We have the perfect arena with Weymouth beach and the Jurassic Coast and can’t wait to share it with the teams, supporters, families and Weymouth town.”
Alaine Harman, Weldmar’s Running and Challenges Fundraiser said, “We are excited to be continuing our partnership with JustRacing UK and looking forward to this brand new event to the beautiful seaside town. We will be there throughout the weekend supporting all participants as well as encouraging fundraising for Weldmar Hospicecare so we can continue our services across Dorset.”
