Stay at Aquila Heights to raise money for Weldmar!
They’ve chosen us as one of their nominated charities.
A popular Dorchester guest house has announced that Weldmar Hospicecare is one of the local charities it will be fundraising for this summer.
Aquila Heights on Maiden Castle Road will donate £1 per occupied room for a month to each of the four good causes they have selected.
Guests booking a stay in September will be helping to raise funds to help us continue our care and support for patients and their families in the community, and at Joseph Weld Hospice.
There will also be information about Weldmar’s services left for guests in their rooms.
Aquila Heights is run by Janet and Derek Cawes.
Derek Caws says: “This is such an easy, but effective, way to raise much-needed funds for charity that we are surprised that it is not more popular. We hope that by doing this ourselves, and letting everyone know about it, that we will inspire other B&Bs and hotels to do something similar. There are literally hundreds of places like us across Dorset and, even if only a few of us ran schemes like this, we could make a huge difference, especially for our local charities. We are mostly very small businesses, but together we can make a significant contribution to our community.”
