‘Staying Covid Secure’ at all Weldmar Hospicecare sites
We’ve followed all government advice at our IPU and retail sites
Across all of our buildings, we have implemented increased hygiene actions including enhanced building cleaning and heightened personal hygiene requirement signage.
During Covid-19, we have had to redesign and adapt many areas of our sites including implementing physical and visual barriers, isolating and identifying changes to work areas.
Our colleagues who are able to work from home are continuing to do so for the foreseeable future. Our clinical, medical and other patient-facing colleagues continue to operate in their usual places of work, but with an increased amount of additional measures.
Many of our patients are clinically extremely vulnerable and PHE shielding guidelines will be followed, which includes wearing of face masks by all staff who work, visit, operate or travel through our Inpatient Unit. Where a patient is displaying symptoms or confirmed as COVID 19 positive, PPE will change in line with PHE guidance.
Observing social distancing in our clinical areas cannot always be fully met, in which circumstances they have all been individually risk assessed with additional restrictions and procedures being implemented for the safety of our staff, patients and their visitors.
We have implemented additional visitor restrictions at our Inpatient Unit. We are restricting any other visitors, contractors or meetings on site unless they are essential, in which case, they must be pre-planned and with strict appointment times.
Comprehensive risk assessments have been completed and will be reviewed and updated on a regular basis for all workplace buildings, patient areas and our sites that are accessible to members of the public, such as our retail sites. These risk assessments are accessible to all of our colleagues.
Our Health and Safety Advisor, Emergency Planning Group and Infection Prevention Group will continue to actively monitor and update our enhanced procedures as necessary.
