Thousands enjoy live entertainment at Music By The Lake
Live music is back at Kingston Maurward, with Weldmar Hospicecare!
Almost five thousand local people visited Kingston Maurward across the weekend for the first Music By The Lake event, which has raised thousand of pounds for Weldmar Hospicecare.
Organised by both Weldmar and Kingston Maurward, revellers enjoyed live music from Elton John and Abba tributes on Friday, Bon Jovi and Queen on Saturday, and Michael Buble on Sunday.
Alaine Harman from Weldmar Hospicecare is one of the event organisers, and said “It’s been absolutely brilliant. All of the music acts were really good, there was a fun atmosphere all weekend, we had really great feedback from people who came along, and most importantly we’ve raised an incredible amount of money for Weldmar, to help with the end of life care we provide in Dorset”.
Principal of Kingston Maurward College, Luke Rake, said, “What a weekend it’s been, and we’re so pleased to have been able to return a key event to the Dorset calendar. Working with Weldmar has been a pleasure and we’re already looking forward to doing more events on the estate in the future”.
Weldmar coffers were further boosted by profits from Zest, who were serving burgers, loaded nachos and fries, and milkshakes. Zest is run by the highly skilled team of chefs at the charity, with all proceeds being ploughed back into our work.
Our thanks go to event sponsors FGP Systems Ltd (pictured above), for their brilliant support of the event. They enjoyed all three shows with friends from the balcony of the Elizabethan manor house, overlooking the lawn and lake.
