Weldmar Hospicecare pay tribute to Wessex FM
We say thank you and goodbye to Wessex FM
Weldmar Hospicecare pay a heartfelt tribute to Wessex FM, who after 27 years of providing entertainment throughout Dorset, come off air for the last time.
Matt Smith, Weldmar’s Director of Fundraising and Marketing, pays tribute to Wessex FM on behalf of the charity:
“Wessex FM, just like Weldmar Hospicecare, have played a key role in serving the local Dorset community for over 25 years. The support that they have given to us during this time is exceptional and they will be greatly missed.
Since the day that we opened our Inpatient Unit doors in 1994, Wessex FM have supported us as a local charity, via news stories, online content, radio interviews and attending our various fundraising events.
If we were planning an event or had an exciting story to share, Wessex FM would always say “how can we help?”.
Without a doubt, our events would not be the success that they have been without the loyal support from Wessex FM over the years
From our first Midnight Walk back in 2007, through to our Summer Fete, Colour Run and Bubble Rush events, Dorset’s Got Talent, Music by the Lake and so much more. If we needed support, Wessex FM were there.
But it’s the people behind the station who went above and beyond. From the presenters to the news team and even the sales representatives, ensuring that we were always offered a warm welcome into their offices and studios and worked together to support each other to serve our local community.
Wessex FM was all about Dorset – about the community that we serve and about local people. That’s why we worked so well together because their ethos and values sat directly in line with ours, although obviously different walks of work, we were actually very similar in many ways.
I would sincerely like to thank Wessex FM and the entire team over the last 27 years for the support that they have given to Weldmar Hospicecare and our services. We shall miss working with the dedicated Wessex team and seeing them at our many events across the county. The support that they have give Weldmar over the years is a credit to the team behind the mics. They are so much more than just another radio station.
Wessex FM, on behalf of everyone at Weldmar Hospicecare, thank you for your support over the last 26 years and goodbye.”
