Volunteer Opportunities – Patient Care and Befriending

We have a number of key volunteer roles linked directly to patient care.  These could be in our in-patient unit on Dorchester, or as part of our community care and Day Services across Dorset.

Even if you don’t see a role ideal for you, fill in the form below and we can contact you for a chat about opportunites.

“I have been volunteering for many years and I just love doing the work I do, as I really feel it helps the staff, patients and families who come in. At the end of every time I have been doing my job there I feel very happy and satisfied that I have been some help”

Complementary Therapists

We are looking for volunteers to join our expanding complementary therapy team and offer their time and professional skills in any of the following therapies:

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working with people within a palliative care setting, making a significant difference to their wellbeing and enabling them to better manage their pain and symptoms.

The volunteering role involves seeing Weldmar patients, carers and the bereaved at either our Inpatient Unit, or one of our five Day Services locations in the community: Weymouth, Dorchester, Bridport, Blandford and Shaftesbury.

We are also actively looking to invest in staff wellbeing and offer therapies and group sessions to members of the Weldmar team.
