Digital Champion Volunteer

Could you spend some time helping Weldmar and become one of our new Digital Champion Volunteers?

Knowing how to get the most from digital devices and the internet can have a hugely positive impact on someone’s life by helping them to complete day to day tasks, keep in touch with loved ones, and improve their well-being. At Weldmar Hospicecare, we’ve made a commitment to improving digital inclusion and skills amongst our patients, their carers and loved ones. We’re now looking for enthusiastic Digital Champion Volunteers to help us.

Digital Champions help others understand the benefits of using the internet, and can show them how to do simple things online. You don’t need to be a IT support genius, just have a bit of spare time, enjoy being online yourself and have a passion to help others. Specifically you’ll need:

The role is flexible and you can offer your support at any of our five Day Services locations, monthly bereavement coffee mornings, or one on one with patients in their own homes. There is no set time commitment, however around 2 hours per week is a realistic estimate.

In return, you’ll have the opportunity to shadow a professional digital skills trainer, have access to our comprehensive free online training resources and the option to achieve Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Awards and Open Badges which can be added to your LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. You’ll also have the option to join the Digital Champions Network where you can connect with other Digital Champions around the UK, record your achievements and enter monthly prize draws.
