Jurassic Coast Challenge Volunteer
We have various roles available for volunteers who can help us with our first Jurassic Coast Challenge for Weldmar Hospicecare
Sunday 19th May 2019
Weldmar’s annual Jurassic Coast Challenge is a fantastic day long walking event, with a 13 mile and a 26 mile route along Dorset beautiful Jurassic Coast.
We are looking for the following help:
To support our participants, for those confident to take on one of the two routes
- Worth Matravers – (required to be at Worth Matravers village Hall at 11am)
- Durdle Door – (required to be at Durdle Door Caravan Park at 6.30am)
Lead and rear walkers
We are in need of confident walkers who can help lead small groups ensuring that a sensible pace is maintained and all our walkers are following the correct route. In addition, we are looking for walkers who are happy to stay at the rear of the groups to ensure that everyone is supported throughout the challenge and crosses the finish line safely. Lead walkers are encouraged to join organisers for training walks prior to the challenge.
Needed for certain points along sections of the South West Coast Path, to ensure walkers follow the right direction and ensure any gates are closed
- Lulworth, above the beach
- Chapman’s Poole
- Durlston Head
Volunteers to help out with registration at the two registration points at Durdle Door Caravan Park (required at 6.30am) and Worth Matravers Village Hall (required at 11am)
