VOLUNTEERS WEEK: Annual Volunteers Event 2019
We would like to thank every single one of our fantastic volunteers for the work that they do!
This week is National Volunteers Week, and Weldmar Hospicecare relies heavily on an army of volunteers doing a wide variety of roles. Without them, we simply couldn’t provide the care and support we do in Dorset.
As Volunteer Week draws to close on the 7th June, we held our Annual Volunteers Event at Dorchester Baptist Church earlier today. The event celebrates our volunteers, with many receiving Long Standing Awards for volunteering at Weldmar for 5 years, 10 year, 15 years and 20 years, with a Chairman’s Award for those who have served for 25 years!
“It’s an opportunity to thank volunteers for everything they do,” said Caroline Munslow, our Volunteer Services Adviser, about Volunteers Week. “And also to raise awareness to engage volunteers who perhaps haven’t thought about volunteering at Weldmar before.”
Speaking about the Annual Volunteer Event, Caroline said, “It’s been a very successful day. We’ve celebrated some long standing volunteers with their Long Standing Awards, presented by our Vice Chairman of Trustees, Sue Davies.”
“It’s been great to celebrate their contribution; we just couldn’t do it without them!”
After the presentation, our volunteers were treated to a delicious buffet, all freshly made by our Weldmar Chefs.
