Weldmar join the Kickstart scheme to offer employment opportunities and training
Young people can gain vital experience with us
Weldmar Hospicecare has signed up to the government’s Kickstart scheme, providing employment opportunities and training for young people.
The aim is to give young people the chance to build their confidence and skills in the workplace, and to gain experience that will improve their chances of going on to find long-term, sustainable work.
It is for those aged 16 to 24 who claim Universal Credit.
A number of Weldmar Hospicecare shops will be taking on people who have applied through Kickstart.
Lynn Goodchild, Head of People Services, says, “We are delighted to be involved in the Kickstart scheme, and be able to offer a valuable opportunity to young people in Dorset to gain experience working in a number of our friendly shops, who are otherwise at the risk of long term unemployment. Our charity shops provide a vital source of income for us to continue our services.”
Applications will be arranged via Jobcentre Plus.
