Well done to our London Marathon runners – and would you like to run for Weldmar next year?
The ballot is open now if you have been inspired!
A huge well done to the supporters who ran the Virgin Money London Marathon for Weldmar Hospicecare at the weekend!
Eight runners took part, either in London or closer to home on a ‘virtual’ route.
Just over £12,000 has been raised to help Weldmar continue to care for adults in Dorset with a life limiting illness, and provide support to their families.
Alaine Harman from the Weldmar Hospicecare Fundraising Team says, “Having completed the London Marathon myself, I know what determination you need, and how much training is involved over a number of months beforehand. It was a lovely experience to be at the Weldmar cheering station at Shadwell, and being able to shout encouragement as our runners went by, knowing they were just five miles from the end! And to those who did the virtual marathon locally, a huge well done to them for completing the event without the help of cheering crowds to spur them on.”
The next London Marathon takes place on Sunday 2nd October, 2022, so if you were inspired by watching it on TV, why not apply for a place and fundraise for Weldmar?
The Ballot for places is open now, and you can apply here. Weldmar will also have a very limited number of Gold Bond places available, which have a minimum fundraising target attached.
If you do apply through the ballot, or would like to be considered for a Gold Bond place, please fill in the details below, and you can start your London Marathon journey with us today!
