Weymouth Weldmar supporter wins £1,000.
Anne Gadsden of Weymouth was recently presented with £1,000, after winning the first prize in the Weldmar Hospicecare Weekly Prize Draw.
The Weekly Prize Draw is a lottery, run to benefit Weldmar Hospicecare in Dorset and St Margaret’s Hospice in Somerset. For just £1 a ticket per week, players are entered into the draw – with a first prize of £1,000 – second prize of £500 – a third prize of £250 – and 25 prizes of £10 each week.
April Whitehead, Individual Giving Manager for Weldmar Hospicecare, said “Our Weekly Prize Draw is a very easy way for anyone to help their local hospice. We rely so much on support from the public of Dorset, as we are not part of the NHS – which means that our supporters provide 70% of the funds we need annually to provide our outstanding care to our patients and their families”.
The Weekly Prize Draw can be played every week, via Direct Debit – or individual tickets can be bought from Trimar Hospice in Weymouth, Joseph Weld Hospice in Dorchester, Hammick House in Poundbury – or from any of the Weldmar Charity Shops or Outlets across Dorset.
Anne Gadsden won her £1,000 after buying an individual ticket at Weldmar’s Charity Shop in Weymouth, on Brownlow Street. Anne recently revisited the shop, to be presented with her cheque by Nikki McCarthy, the Deputy Manager of Weldmar’s Brownlow Street Shop.
Anne said “I never win anything, so I was so happy to hear that I was a winner with Weldmar”.
April said “Anyone who wants more information about the Weekly Prize Draw can find it on our website or by calling the Hospice’s Weekly Prize Draw Office on 01823 365620”.
