World Cancer Day 2019 – Joe’s Story
We are privileged to be able to share Joe’s story on World Cancer Day
The 4th February is World Cancer Day and we’ve got an important story and we’d like to share. 80% of Weldmar’s patients have terminal cancer. One of those patients was Joe.
Joe was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer and was given 2-3 years to live. Sadly, just 8 months later, Joe passed away. Joe and his partner were due to get married but the day after Becky’s hen-do, and just two weeks before their wedding day, Joe died. Becky now lives each day as a single mother with her three children aged 12, 22 months and 7 months old.
Joe died in the care of Weldmar Hospicecare last year, which he described as ‘five star care’.
Becky said “Joe was very passionate about sharing his story in the hope he could help others, and I intend on continuing to do so on his behalf, not only for the sake of others but also for our children, to grow up knowing their Daddy helped to raise so much awareness, even after he passed.”
This is Joe’s story…
