Young fundraiser Imogen raises £945 for Weldmar
Young fundraiser, Imogen Brown of Dorchester, raised £945 for Weldmar Hospicecare.
A bingo event held at St Mary’s Catholic First School helped to raise £945 for the hospice charity that is so close to 13 year old Imogen’s heart, as Weldmar Hospicecare cared for Imogen’s grandfather, Chris Dufall, during 2015.
Over 120 people attended the bingo night, where there was also a raffle held – supported by local Dorset businesses.
This is not the first event organised by Imogen and her family. In August 2016, Imogen raised over £862 by holding a cake sale.
Imogen said “Weldmar is an amazing place which looked after my grandad. I’m going to keep on fundraising for them. I will be having another cake sale on 12th August 2017 – as this was my Grandad’s birthday”.
Caroline Hamblett, Chief Executive of Weldmar Hospicecare, said “I would like to thank Imogen, and her family, for all their hard work. The money they have raised will help us to continue to provide our Outstanding care across Dorset, supporting our patients and their families where and when they need us most – in their homes, in a local hospital in our hospice, or over the phone”.
